Yesterday on 14 December 2022 there was an an assembly of philanthropists at Abhoynagar of Agartala to analyse human rights situation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. The meeting was presided over by Ananda Bikash Chakma and moderated by Surajit Chakma.
The Chairman of the HPF Dr Gautam Chakma, HOD of Political Science Department at Tripura University has welcomed all the participants and expressed great concern over the recent human rights violations against the Bawm and Chakma community of the CHT. He highlighted the plight of the recent Bawm (Chin Kuki Mizo) refugees now sheltering in the Indian state of Mizoram. He has also expressed concern over the broad day light killing of Subahu Chakma by the Masked force sponsored by the Bangladesh Army. The Secretary General of the HPF Dr Parama Chakma, assistant professor of sociology at Tripura University also expressed the same.
